Blue Raine is an Adelaide based duo fusing a blend of ‘remixed’ modern material, with classic hits from as far back as the 1950’s. Our aim is to breathe fresh new life into arrangements that have stood the test of time, while retaining the charm of the original artist.
They are also very experienced in corporate events, and can include audio visual presentations and basic DJ sets within the mix.
Blue Raine have been playing professionally together for 3.5 years and have performed at a large number of corporate, private and public gigs including Adelaide Festival Theatre, Mayfair Hotel, Hotel Victor, Prince Albert Hotel Gawler, Golden Fleece Hotel Gawler, The Glenelg Club (Glenelg Football Oval), Barossa Valley Brewing, The British Hotel Port Adelaide, The Pontoon Bar Adelaide (Melbourne Cup), The Stamford Grand (front bar and ballroom), Regal Theatre, Capri Theatre, RSL Clubs, Adelaide Town Hall, wineries, and numerous Cafes/Wine Bars etc.
The duo also performs many different types of events such as weddings, balls, awards nights, functions/parties, corporate functions, sports clubs, opening nights, pubs, charity events etc. They have also performed live on radio on a number of occasions.
Our set list includes recent songs from (for example) Selena Gomez, Adele, Flume (DJ), Portugal The Man, Beyonce, Dua Lipa and many others. We have also selectively sourced, emotionally-rich songs from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and beyond, including Prince, Fleetwood Mac, Carole King, The Animals, Spencer Davis Group, Jimmy Barnes, Roxette, Eagles, Beatles etc.
Amongst these there are plenty of upbeat songs, but also alluring melodic pieces that are ideal for more intimate venues, cocktail functions, wine bars etc. We can happily add requested material for particular themes – for example we recently played a masquerade party where the client wanted half a dozen Dean Martin songs in our set list.
They utilise high quality Audio ewuipment, suitable for typical function event sizes.
Blue Raine members, Jaymi Humphreys and Simon Jones are classically trained musicians with an ability to play an extensive repertoire across a wide range of genres. The Blue Raine sound is quite unique: Jaymi has a sensational, seductive voice and can sing everything from classic soul to jazz standards to modern pop. Simon plays a ‘synthesized guitar’ which provides a huge selection of live sounds – ranging from acoustic, to orchestral, bass and percussive. People have commented that our sound is classy and ‘amazing’ and much more ‘sophisticated’ than they expect to hear from a typical acoustic duo.
Blue Raine are often complimented on thier song choice – which is always rewarding for musicians to get this kind of feedback.

We have a monthly residency gig at Barossa Valley Brewing which extends into 2020. Its a great venue with an out door verandah. People come and go from the venue, though they often get bus tours and party groups drop in so we do requests. We have got excellent feedback from the guests of this venue ( and the venue itself)

I'll mention the British Hotel though this was the 4th most recent gig. It was the first time we had played there and initially the diners were very quiet - it was not an easy room to play at first. However we engaged with them during the performance, and also during breaks and won them over.
They seemed to love the variety of material we play - something for all ages.
By the end of the gig they were rocking on the dance floor, taking photos of us, and were reluctant to leave! It was a great gig and we are currently negotiating more gigs there.

For example The SA Society of Auctioneers used us for their gala Awards night in 2017 for live music, an audio/visual presentation and motivational sound experience! The entertainment for the event was so successful (Gary Topp CEO quoted “their best ever”) that we were invited back to repeat it in 2018 with the same impact!

I've given you a Dropbox link to some recordings we did ourselves so they are not incredible quality but as we have always got our gigs through word of mouth we have not really needed anything else.
